Hello, everyone. I'm Cris Spiegel and I'm here to present to you my projects. They can also be seen in my website:
VISUAL ATROCITY The first one is called MUHON NO KAZE: WINDS OF REBELLION and it's a verticall scrolling bullet hell in the Cave style but with polarity system. There are blue and red bullets, but some enemies also fire neutral grey ones. For those who think it's something that cannot be pulled off, I tell you that so far things are great and, although the later parts are still kinda messy, it's just a matter of ironing up - development is not near the end yet, still lots of things to do. ![]() ![]() ![]() You may look for "Winds of Rebellion" on YouTube for some old videos. PROGRESS: music sound system working properly with streaming; working on the 'blinking' of shot enemies. Second one is LICHTGESTALT BATORU. It's on hold, but a demo is out. This is an abstract scrolling one where the player is not bonded to only one direction, but is able to shoot in the four cardinal directions. Enemies come from everywhere, so you're encouraged to stay closer to the center of the screen. There's also grazing - fulfill the meter so a powerup appears. First stage is done. ![]() How to play Lichtgestalt Batoru: in Options screen, player must use the mouse to change the settings - to change controls, hover the cursor on the function and press the desired key. But, if the player just want to play, then he clicks on GO!. The default controls are as follow: ARROWS - movement WASD - firing direction ENTER - start and pause Tap fire to shoot, hold it to concentrate the attack. Halt your fire for a while to rise the shield - fire to release it as a bomb. Graze bullets to fill the multiplier gauge and to make powerups appear. Powerups are like a roulette - choose whether you power your fire up or equip on of the bomb types. This game is HARD! So watch a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz_Ht8r-gTE Memorization is the key. PROGRESS: Now with music!; the rest is on hold. Third one is not really started. It will be called GoGoMaki Dai Jo Bu. My sister asked me to create a game that girls can better relate to. So I'm imagining and sketching stuff inspired by Mushihime-sama, Shikigami no Shiro and cute'em ups. There's nothing really defined about gameplay, only that it will be vertical, there will be a bunch of characters to choose from and their powers will vary greatly. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cute pencil people is all I have so far, PROGRESS: Cute pencil people WAS all I HAD: coding has started!; doing sprites for the charas. I'm using Game Maker 7 to make these games. GET LICHTGESTALT BATORU DEMO HERE! This is my MySpace Music profile, with songs I've written for my games: SPIEGELWORKS -------------------- |

I downloaded and played LICHTGESTALT BATORU the other day. I not a big fan of the multi-directional shooters, but it was still good. I am looking forward to MUHON NO KAZE: WINDS OF REBELLION and GoGoMaki Dai Jo Bu though. Can't wait. ^^

Glad you liked.
I have produced a tune for Lichtgestalt Batoru. Minimatist electronic stuff. My synthesizer is broken, so I have no proper instrument to do more elaborated stuff, but I liked it anyway. Just download the demo through the same link. Do you guys have any ideas on how I can divulge my work? It would be nice to have links to my site and Batoru demo in blogs around the net. If you know any URL of blogs and sites, please let me know. -------------------- |

Do you guys have any ideas on how I can divulge my work? It would be nice to have links to my site and Batoru demo in blogs around the net. If you know any URL of blogs and sites, please let me know. I'm more used to helping people find ways to advertising their music, but I guess it could work with games as well. One way you can advertise is to create a topic in forums you often go to about your games. If people are interested, they'll check it out. There is another way to do it (I've seen people do it before, but it doesn't seem to be all that effective) You can advertise music from the game. This is were things tend to get really simple, but people may not really care about the game, even if they like the music. Another music orientated way is through a game called Stepmania (yeah, that game), though I never seen people try to ad video games through it, I'm sure it's possible, but not recommended. If you really want to try this, I would be more than willing to help you out. Overall, I don't think advertising through the music is a great idea, but if you want to I'd say it's worth a try. Your demo did have some pretty nice tunes to blast to. ^^ I'd say you're better off going to numerous shmup websites and join the forum and get your work in the site's shmup database (If they have one) -------------------- Give me an R9-a "Arrow Head" and some Bydo, and I'll figure out the rest.
