Gameplay footage of the Colecovision game as well as the MSX game. The game is virtually identical on both platforms. The Colecovision joystick makes it a little harder to play but it is a good version. River Raid on my Colecovision vs is a response to xTHExSTIGx's highscore challenge. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuA6srj6FuY&feature=channel_video_title

I dare you to beat my highscore on the 2600 game 'Beamrider' if you can please try to make a video response and reply to this video. Beamrider is a game by Activision and it has also been ported to other platforms like the Colecovision, Intellivision, Commodore 64. The scoring seems to be the same on the other platforms, yet the difficulty seems to be a little different so scores may not be comparable across the various systems. I will ask Interghost to put this Atari 2600 challenge video on his Retro Records blog. You can find that great initiative for competitive arcade high scores here: http://interghosthouse.blogspot.co.uk/

Juno First (ジュノファースト) On C64, MSX, Atari 2600 and 800 - Which Version Is The Best?
LactobacillusPrime posted a video in STG Videos
Juno First is a game of the vertical shoot 'em up variety arcade game developed by Konami and released in 1983. It was licensed to Gottlieb in the United States. It's similar to Space Invaders, Galaga and the game Beam Rider. In this video I compare and play a couple of the home ports. - C64 - MSX - 2600 Check out what I think of them.-

Juno First On The Atari 2600 - An Excellent Homebrew Port
LactobacillusPrime posted a video in STG Videos
This is a mix of BreamRider, Defender, Galaga, Gyruss combined and I love it. This is a recent 2600 homebrew port that is very good. You can obtain this game over at Atari Age where it is available in both PAL60 and NTSC flavours, a link to the page can be found here: https://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=894-

doctordel Yars' Revenge - Atari - Kid Stuff Records (Full Album)
Gandalf42 posted a video in STG Oddities
This is truly an odd slice of nostalgia. I was a major fan of Howard Scott Warshaw's fantastic Atari 2600 shooter Yars' Revenge. Never came across this, or any of the other Kid Stuff Records, back in the day.... but I'm glad I came across it now. It's sooooo bad! Great stuff! So have a listen to an early 80's cheese-ball musical story of the game Yar's Revenge.... and thank me later. 😆-
