  1. Okay so it's the sequel. The Nes goes without the original - at least to my knowledge is does. Check it out. It plays well. The 2600 version is just as good and very similar to the Centipede game on that console.
  2. Checking out Centipede on the Mattel Intellivision.
  3. Checking out Centipede on the Atari 7800 console.
  4. Checking out Centipede on the Atari 5200 console.

Truxton's - not the bistro but the game! (SD)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE-V5S4w94I IanWilson1978 did a mini-review on Truxton and I just had to see if I could beat his score in easy mode in one go (before hitting game over, without continues). Hell he was doing a voice over at the same time so how tough could that be with me fully concentrating on the game? Well it seems mr Wilson is not so bad at shmups after all! Pretty decent score matey! Please be sure to check out his channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ianwilson1978
  6. Mark Plays.... Galactic Attack on the Sega Saturn, a shmup by Taito released in 1995. A great 2D game with sprite scaling-galore. This is were the Saturn was very good at. I thought I'd share this little gem of a Saturn Title we can tie ourselves over for the moment RetroGamerVX unleashes his 'Saturn Craze' upon us. We may as well get our bearings and shield ourselves just a little in order to keep at least a small part of our sanity. http://www.youtube.com/user/retrogamervx I'd give this game a healty 85% in all areas. Oh and I did make an earlier video on it back in 1999, but the quality was a bit shitty 😛
  7. In this video I am trying to play Gyruss on the Atari 8-bit home computer range (800XL/130XE) and I talk a bit about the game, life, the universe and everything on the side. It is a very fun game and belongs right up there with my all-time favorites (time pilot, gyruss are right up there). Intro music by ZombieAndy1979 http://www.youtube.com/user/ZombieAndy1979
  8. Playing a hidden gem on the original Xbox 'Robotron 2084' a port of the original arcade game on microsoft's first venture onto the online gaming market on the original Xbox. The game has an 'enhanced' background but for the most part remains pretty true to the arcade original. It is controlled by both analog sticks on the xbox controller and the gameplay is fluid and very nice. The game is very tough though as only 8 way shooting is possible allowing for 45 degree angles of vulnerability and lots of small objects being hurled your way. Loosing a life is easy! 9. I dare you to beat my highscore on the Intellivision game 'Beamrider' if you can please try to make a video response and reply to this video. Beamrider is a game by Activision and it has also been ported to other platforms like the Colecovision, Intellivision, Commodore 64. The scoring seems to be the same on the other platforms, yet the difficulty seems to be a little different so scores may not be comparable across the various systems. After playing the wickedly hard Atari 2600 version I tried the game on the Intellivision. It plays a little differently - may be down to the controller. It has a nice launch sequence and bonus counting screen. The patterns seem very similar with the bonuses and the levels being very similar. Yet the tempo/timing may be different. Not sure if the scores compare well between the systems. Hence these different versions. Beamrider is one of those games I have on many systems 🙂 Love to play the different versions actually. This one feels very nice. Recorded off the console with Archos 605 Media recorder - zoomed in slightly to accommodate the widescreen format but with the correct aspect ratio. If you do a video response real hardware or emulation is fine. I will ask Interghost to put this Intellivision challenge video on his Retro Records blog. You can find that great initiative for competitive arcade high scores here: http://interghosthouse.blogspot.co.uk/ Score: 16725, Sector 9 @ Level 1, 3 lives

Mark Plays.... Sea Quest (Atari 2600)

A nice arcade game by Activition, Sequest. Released in North America on the 2600. I try to beat Tony aka ElectricAdventures' amazing run of this game found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYkH-5QvGWg █▬█ █ ▀█▀

Mark Tries Shmups On The SNES (NTSC)

In this video(series) I play some of my favourite Shmups on the NTSC-Snes. I start the game and see how far I can get until game over appears. Now some of these games are hard as nails and I may not be the best at them either as I was waffling while playing. Let me know what you think and if you'd like to see more of these.
  12. In this video I check out a ZX Spectrum port of a Videopac/Odyssey 2 game called Attack of the Timelord / Terrahawks. It's a fun shooter that I demonstrated a while ago in one of my videos. Only just discovered that a Spectrum port exists. You can find more information about it here: http://www.indieretronews.com/2014/07/terrahawks-videopac-homebrew-release.html
  13. Perhaps here is what I got my love of shooters from - the little Casio LCD game I played back in the day. It was my sister's but I played this to death. Check it out in the video.
  14. Playing Geometry Wars Galaxies for the Nintendo DS with Drastic on an Android gaming handheld GPD-XD. Using the HDMI output feature to display the screen on the TV and to grab it with a video capture card. For a full review of the GPD-XD check here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dijYHMTY74I Gaming on Android Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLm6lVTBc6QVRVlpTpH0qp6qIIi3O5Svf3
  15. Playing Geometry 3 Android Port on an Android gaming handheld GPD-XD. Using the HDMI output feature to display the screen on the TV and to grab it with a video capture card. This is an excellent port that is also quite playable on a touch screen only device. It has an auto aim feature when using a touch screen that makes playing it with one finger possible. Of course you won't be able to get the same high scores as the auto-aim isn't the most clever system but still. For a full review of the GPD-XD check here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dijYHMTY74I Gaming on Android Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLm6lVTBc6QVRVlpTpH0qp6qIIi3O5Svf3
