About Me

  1. Gyruss is a very nice shmup that is very similar to Galaga and Galaxian only with a conical/wrapping screen lay out and some fancy emulated ' scaling' effects creating a 3D look. In this video I check out 3 ports and talk a bit while I play the games - rather badly actually. πŸ™‚ I couldn't find my C64 version but that is well worth playing and checking out and quite close to the arcade game actually. Are there other ports out there?
  2. In this video I am trying to play Gyruss on the Atari 8-bit home computer range (800XL/130XE) and I talk a bit about the game, life, the universe and everything on the side. It is a very fun game and belongs right up there with my all-time favorites (time pilot, gyruss are right up there). Intro music by ZombieAndy1979 http://www.youtube.com/user/ZombieAndy1979
  3. An easy challenge - beat me at Gyruss (ジャむラス). I play the arcade version here and I show you how far I got. πŸ˜› A great example of a 'Tube Shooter' ala Tempest The maker of this game moved on to create great games like Time Pilot, Street Fighter and 1942 Highscore to beat (easily): 72450 Diagnosis: Gyruss Infection Remedy: Keep on playing it. 4. I am quite fond of Gyruss - it's a Galaga/Galaxian like shooter that originated in the arcades and was ported to many home systems including the C64 in 1984 released by Parker Brothers. I've made videos on this game before but today I tried to beat my all time highscore and I actually did. Can you beat mine? C64 NTSC Suzo Arcade Stick - mashing the fire button like crazy
